Verso reads its navigation from the menus you build in your Shopify admin, not from theme settings. This one idea explains almost every navigation question.
Build the menu
-
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Navigation.
-
Open your Main menu (or create a new menu and assign it in the header section’s Menu setting).
-
Add your top-level items — for example Shop, About, Journal, Contact.
-
To create dropdowns, drag items to the right underneath a parent so they become nested sub-items.
Mega menus
All three styles have full-width mega menu panels, and they turn on the same way: any top-level menu item that has sub-items opens as a mega menu. No extra setting is needed.
- Two levels (item → sub-items): the panel lists the sub-items as links.
- Three levels (item → groups → links): each second-level item becomes a titled column, with its children as the links. This is the classic mega menu layout.
If your mega menu “isn’t showing”, the cause is almost always a flat menu — top-level links with nothing nested beneath them. Open Online Store → Navigation and check for the indented sub-items.
The promo card inside the menu
Each style can show a promotional card inside its menu panels — a featured product, a collection, or hand-written copy. In Verso, feature cards are blocks on the header section matched to a menu item by name. In Maren & Field and Baseline, the promo is configured in the header section’s settings and can fill itself from a product or collection automatically. See The mobile menu and its feature card for the automatic option.
