Verso is built to WCAG-informed standards: semantic headings, keyboard-reachable navigation and overlays, visible focus outlines, screen-reader labels on icon buttons, and real text (never text baked into images).
Built in
- Every dialog — cart, search, menus, popups — traps focus while open and closes on Escape.
- Star ratings, counts, and icon-only buttons carry text for screen readers.
- Shoppers with reduce motion set in their system preferences automatically get a calm store: no entrance animations, no marquee drift, no scroll reveals.
- Default palettes meet contrast standards for text.
Your part
-
Write alt text for product and section images — it lives with each image in your admin and uploads.
-
Keep heading order sensible: every section has a heading tag selector (H1–H4). One H1 per page — the hero or opener — then H2s down the page.
-
When you recolor sections, check the contrast of your combinations — see the note in Background and text colors.
The heading tag selectors exist exactly for this: if you move a section up or down the page, you can correct its heading level without touching the design.
